Hebridean haiku

This has turned out to be one of my favourite commissions. My client wrote a Haiku to celebrate her family’s holidays on the little island of Luing, off the west coast of Scotland. As well as the lovely poem, the client gave me free rein with the design and placement of the text. The spirals make reference to the swirl in the poem and are redolent of the fierce tidal streams and eddies that persist in those coastal waters. The finished stone has been installed on the island.

“Stuart that’s wonderful! It is magnificent – beautifully designed and carved. “
